Margarita Sidorova is a prominent figure in the cosmetics industry, bringing in-depth expertise in raw materials, formulations, and the complete supply chain, from procurement to product manufacturing. As the founder of the Canadian Cosmetic Cluster, she has established herself as a leader in fostering innovation and collaboration within the industry. Representing Canada on the Global Cosmetic Cluster Board, Margarita actively organizes global initiatives that strengthen international cooperation in cosmetics and related fields.
A sought-after speaker and thought leader, Margarita has presented her insights at major events like the SCC NY Technology Showcase and the Cosmetic 360 Show in Paris, where she was a finalist for formulation at the Cosmetic 360 Awards in 2017. She holds a Business Administration degree (BAA) with a minor in Biology from Thompson Rivers University, complemented by Cosmetic Science studies through the UKSCS. In 2024, she completed the Restorative Aquaculture Course through SAMS and EIT.
Margarita developed the Chembox, a pioneering ingredient sampling initiative that facilitated the distribution of innovative raw materials across North America. By supporting 22 ingredient suppliers, the program catalyzed collaborations between suppliers and manufacturers, driving product development and market innovation. Margarita has led five trade missions to France, showcasing Canadian expertise and strengthening global ties. She also organized a symposium in Bordeaux during the Cosmetic 360 event, bringing together international industry leaders to exchange knowledge and explore opportunities. In 2024 she led the first-ever Canadian Cosmetic Pavilion at the Cosmetic 360 Show, winning two medals for Canada for Local Initiative and Cultural Knowledge.
Margarita’s work extends beyond traditional cosmetics into the blue economy, where she integrates sustainable marine innovations into the beauty industry. Through Beauty By The Sea Project she bridges the blue economy and the cosmetics sector, promoting marine-based resources and sustainable aquaculture. This project fosters collaboration between research facilities and industry stakeholders to develop marine-derived cosmetics. She expanded her Chembox initiative to include marine-based raw materials and eco-friendly packaging, empowering brands to integrate ocean-derived resources into their products.
